When you're out on the water, the last thing you want is battery trouble. At Batteries Plus, we carry a wide selection of marine batteries designed to deliver long-lasting power for boats of all sizes. Whether you need a deep-cycle battery for extended trolling, a dual-purpose option for starting and cycling, or just a lightweight battery to start the engine, we have you covered. From fishing boats and personal watercraft to sailboats and yachts, we offer 12V marine batteries (AGM, Lithium, and flooded) that withstand vibration, waves, and long days on the water. Shop by voltage, group size, cold cranking amps (CCA), and more to find the right fit for your vessel.
Don't risk getting stranded with the wrong marine battery. To get the most out of your time on the water, match your battery to your boating style. Choose a Starting Battery for reliable, high-burst engine cranks every single time. Need to keep your trolling motor, fish finders, and radio humming for hours? Grab a rugged Deep-Cycle Battery. Or, get the best of both with a Dual-Purpose Battery, the perfect all-in-one powerhouse for boats with fewer electronics.

At Batteries Plus, we're proud of our batteries. Upgrade to long-lasting marine power backed by the best battery warranties in the business. Whether you need rugged SLI or high-performance lithium, we've got you covered.
First, determine the battery type your vessel needs. Do you just need a starting battery to get the motor going? Or do you need a deep-cycle battery to power accessories like a trolling motor or fish finder?
Once you know the type you need, you can focus on the capacity, voltage, and chemistry types like flooded, AGM, or lithium. These are your chance to "upgrade" for long-lasting power, lighter weight, and better performance. Your boat owner's manual should indicate which batteries are compatible with your vessel.

How long your boat's battery lasts depends on the type of battery and usage. For instance, starting batteries, which operate like car batteries, last about the same amount of time: three to five years. Deep-cycle batteries range from four to six years. Dual-purpose batteries have the most variation in battery life, ranging from three years to six.
In all cases, the final battery life varies based on usage, maintenance, and storage. If you have an older battery, it's best to get it tested before going out on the water, especially after storage.
The average amount of time to charge most marine batteries is 4-8 hours. The exact amount of time it takes to reach a full charge depends on several factors, like how much the battery is charged, if it is capable of "fast-charging", and the type of charger used.
We recommend wearing gloves and eye protection when handling your boat's battery, as you could be exposed to acid or corrosion. When removing an old flooded battery or installing a new one, keep the battery upright to avoid spilling.
When the battery is in the boat, make sure it is properly secured. You might need mounting brackets or tie-down straps to keep the battery in place. Otherwise, vibrations from waves and the engine itself can cause battery damage.
Safety is just as important during the off-season as it is on the water. Remove the battery from the boat (if possible) and recharge it fully. Next, store it in a battery box kept in a cool and dry area with good ventilation. Use a battery tender or maintainer throughout the off-season to keep the charge up above 50%. If you have a lithium battery, a Battery Management System (BMS) can monitor power levels.
