Released in the late 1930s in Germany, the VW Beetle was initially dubbed the "people's car". It was small, practical and affordable. It was eventually imported into the US to be sold stateside in the 1950s. Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, yes, that Porsche, the Beetle had a design that was loved by all from the enthusiast to the family. Later on it became known as the VW Bug and that name stuck to this day. It may not officially be called the Volkswagen Bug but we all know what that is.

Volkswagen put the Beetle on pause in the late 1970s and launched the "New Beetle" in 1998. The new Beetle was meant to be an homage to the original but it was really just a Beetle shell on a VW Golf. The newest Beetles launched before its finale in 2018 were fashionable and surprisingly sporty. They were available in both diesel and sporty gas engines and a tight, agile suspension making it rather fun to drive.
