How Do I Know the Size of My Car Battery?

  • You can find the correct group battery size for your Volvo S60 by checking your owner's manual or by looking it up online
  • The BCI group size appears as a bunch of numbers (Group 48) or numbers and a letter (Group 94R)
  • Read our blog "How Do I Know Which Car Battery Fits My Car?  " for more information

How Many CCAs Should a Battery Have?

  • CCAs (short for Cold Cranking Amps) tell you how well an auto battery will perform in zero-degree weather
  • The higher the number of CCAs, the better the battery will perform in the cold
  • You can find the recommended CCA rating for your vehicle in the owner's manual
  • You should not buy a battery with a lower CCA rating than the manufacturer recommends
  • You can buy a battery with a higher than recommended CCA rating; it will work more reliably in cold weather

What is Better AGM or Flooded Battery?

  • There are 2 types of auto batteries: flooded & AGM
  • Flooded batteries are the most basic replacement battery options and are also the most affordable
  • Some flooded auto batteries require you to top off the liquid levels inside with distilled or deionized water
  • AGM batteries cost more, but provide more power than flooded batteries. This allows you to start your engine more easily in extremely hot and cold climates.
  • AGM batteries are maintenance free and designed to last 2-3X longer than a flooded battery; many owners save you money in the long run with an AGM battery
  • If your Volvo S60 originally came with an AGM battery, you must replace it with another AGM battery.

Who Makes X2Power Batteries?

  • X2Power batteries are manufactured exclusively for Batteries Plus
  • Utilizes Thin Plate Pure Lead technology to provide more power for top performance in any climate
  • Engineered to last 3X longer than flooded auto batteries
  • Has a much higher power capacity, making it an ideal battery for vehicles with lots of technology onboard
