How Do I Know What Size Battery I Need?

Your owner's manual will provide you with the correct battery size for your Nissan Titan truck. If you no longer have your owner's manual, you can find this information online. You'll also want to look up the CCA rating recommended by the manufacturer. CCAs (Cold Cranking Amps)   tell you how well a battery performs in cold weather.

Vehicle manufacturers provide you with a minimum CCA rating for each vehicle they produce. When shopping for a new battery, be sure the one that you select has a high enough CCA rating for your Nissan Titan. If you live in a very cold area, you can buy a battery with a higher number of CCAs. This will make it easier for your vehicle to start in subzero temperatures.

What Is Better, AGM or Flooded Cell?

There are two different types of battery chemistries for a Nissan Titan, flooded and AGM. A flooded battery is your most affordable option. Flooded batteries are unsealed and some will require you to maintain them by topping off the electrolyte inside with distilled water.

AGM batteries are completely sealed, which means that they require no additional maintenance. Due to a different internal construction, AGM batteries are also designed to last longer, recharge faster and perform better in extreme hot and cold weather. Purchasing an AGM battery will cost more upfront than a flooded option. However, since AGM batteries last longer, many people end up saving money in the long run with them.

Are X2Power Batteries Good?

X2Power is a brand of high-performance vehicle batteries manufactured exclusively by Batteries Plus. They're engineered to be the longest-lasting, best-performing batteries on the market. If you want the best battery available for your Nissan Titan, consider purchasing an X2Power battery. Here are a few of the many features they offer:

  • Recharges faster than a flooded auto battery
  • Features some of the highest CCAs for top performance in any climate

  • 100% spill-proof & maintenance free
  • 28X more resistant to vibrations than a standard battery

Nissan Titan FAQs

Your Nissan Titan will require either a flooded or AGM auto battery. One thing to keep in mind; if your Titan came with an AGM battery, you must replace it with another AGM option. Downgrading to a flooded battery will have a negative impact on your truck's performance.

Truck batteries usually last between 3 and 5 years. Your driving habits, the type of battery you have and the climate you drive it in all play a role in how long your battery lasts. Our blog entitled, "How Far Do I Need to Drive to Charge My Car Battery?  " has plenty of useful information on how to prolong your battery's lifespan.

The cost of a new Nissan battery will depend on the type of battery you choose. Flooded batteries cost less upfront, but have shorter lifespans. An AGM battery is designed to last longer, so many drivers save money in the long run with an AGM option.
