When replacing the battery in your Kia Optima, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first thing you want to determine is what size battery you need. The battery size will appear as a group of numbers or numbers and a letter like Group 48 or Group 124R. You can find this information either in your Kia Optima owner's manual or by looking at the exterior of your current battery.

CCA rating is another thing to pay attention to when replacing the battery in your Kia Optima. CCA stands for Cold Cranking Amps, which measures how well an auto battery will perform in cold conditions. Vehicle manufacturers provide a minimum number of CCAs for each vehicle they produce.

Just like with battery sizes, you can find the minimum CCA requirement for your Kia Optima by looking at the owner's manual. One thing to keep in mind; you can buy a battery with a higher CCA rating, but you should never buy one that falls below the recommended CCA rating.

There are also several different battery chemistries available for your Ford Optima. Flooded batteries are the most affordable auto batteries upfront. They offer solid performance and may require you to occasionally top off the electrolyte inside them with distilled water.

An AGM battery features a slightly different design that allows it to perform better than a flooded battery. For this reason, an AGM battery will cost more upfront than a flooded battery. Since AGM batteries last longer than flooded options, owners often save money in the long run when choosing an AGM battery. It's important to keep in mind that if your Kia Optima originally came with an AGM battery you must replace it with another AGM battery. Otherwise, it will have a negative impact on the performance of your car and the battery itself.

What is an X2Power battery? X2Power is a high-performance battery brand available exclusively at Batteries Plus. An X2Power battery is the longest-lasting, best-performing battery for your Kia Optima. Here are a few of the advantages X2Power batteries offer:

  • Designed to last up to 3X longer than a flooded battery
  • Higher power capacity makes it ideal for cars with lots of onboard technology
  • Recharges faster than a flooded auto battery
  • High CCA rating for top performance in any climate
  • 28X more resistant to vibrations
  • 100% spill-proof & maintenance free
