How long will your Honda Ridgeline battery last? Good question; we get it all the time. Typically, our experts say, the battery in your Ridgeline will last somewhere in the range of 3 to 5 years. After that, you'll need to have your Honda battery replaced. Batteries Plus makes it easy to find the right replacement battery for your Honda Ridgeline pickup truck.

That said, are there signs to look for when your Honda battery is beginning to fail  ? Short answer: Yes. When the battery in your Honda Ridgeline starts to fade, you'll notice a change in your vehicle's performance. As the battery ages, it will struggle to start your engine. It may also have a hard time holding a charge, forcing you to jumpstart your engine  . If any of these things happen, it's a good idea to have your battery tested. Batteries Plus tests Honda Ridgeline batteries for free  , and the test itself takes less than two minutes. You'll agree that the peace of mind is worth it.

When replacing the battery in your Ridgeline, start by identifying the correct BCI Group Size   battery that your truck requires. You can find this info in your owner's manual, by looking at your current battery or by using one of several reference tools available online. The experts at your local Batteries Plus will also be happy to help. You can check with our easy-to-use fitment finder, too. Just enter your VIN, license plate number or your truck's make, model and year.

Another thing to keep in mind is the number of cold cranking amps (CCAs) you need for your truck. CCAs tell you how well your battery will hold up in cold weather. Your owner's manual will provide you with the correct CCA requirements for your Honda Ridgeline. If you live in an area prone to extreme cold, you may want to purchase a battery with a higher number of CCAs than what your owner's manual recommends.

Once you have that information, you need to decide if you want a flooded or AGM replacement battery   for your Honda Ridgeline. Flooded batteries are the most commonly used type of auto battery, perhaps because they're also the most affordable. An AGM battery will cost you more upfront, but will last about twice as long and perform better overall. X2Power AGM batteries last even longer - up to 3 times as long as a flooded battery. Plus, they recharge faster and are built to turn over your engine in any climate. One very important thing to keep in mind; if your Honda originally came with an AGM battery, you must replace it with another AGM battery. Do not attempt to downgrade to a flooded battery as it will have adverse effects on your vehicle.

When you purchase a new battery for your Ridgeline, Batteries Plus will install it in your Honda  , at most locations. Or, upgrade to Premier Installation for added protection against battery corrosion.

Typically, Honda batteries last between 3-5 years. To get the longest life possible from your battery, be sure to keep it charged at all times. Drive your Ridgeline for a minimum of 30 minutes a week at highway speeds. If you don't drive it that often, attach it to a battery maintainer to help prevent the battery from sulfating  .
