Is it time to replace the battery in your pickup? You'll find the best replacement batteries for your GMC 1500 pickup at Batteries Plus. We carry batteries from Optima, Duracell and our exclusive X2Power. Plus, most of our stores offer expert battery installation.

Truck batteries typically last about 3-5 years. After that, their performance tends to fall off. If your battery is having a hard time holding a charge or you have to try several times to start your engine in the morning, it's a good idea to have your battery checked. Batteries Plus offers free battery testing at each of our 700+ locations.

Our selection of GMC 1500 pickup batteries includes both flooded and AGM batteries. AGM batteries cost more upfront, but offer a much better performance. They last longer, recharge faster and stand up better to the impact of extreme weather.

Want the best battery possible for your GMC 1500 truck? Pick up one of our exclusive AGM batteries. AGM batteries are engineered to offer top performance in any climate. They last up to 3 times longer than traditional flooded batteries and offer a higher voltage output for more reliable vehicle starting.

Batteries Plus also offers additional auto essentials for your GMC 1500 pickup. Visit our Automotive Center to find windshield wiper blades, battery chargers and more. If you need a new key fob for your GMC Sierra 1500, we can help you with that too. Take advantage of our key cutting and key fob replacement service, available at most Batteries Plus locations.

GMC 1500 Series Pickup FAQs

The average lifespan for a truck battery is around 3 to 5 years. In order to get the full life out of your battery, be sure to drive your 1500 pickup at highway speeds for at least 30 minutes per week. If you drive less than that, pick up a battery maintainer to help keep your battery charged up.

The Battery Council International (BCI) has broken truck batteries down into a number of different group battery sizes. The correct BCI group size for your particular truck will be listed in your owner's manual. If you no longer have an owner's manual, there are a number of tools online that can help you determine what size battery you need.

The cost of a replacement GMC pickup battery will depend on the type of battery you want. Flooded batteries are more affordable upfront, while an AGM battery will cost you a little bit more. AGM batteries have much longer lifespans than flood batteries though, so, in the long run, you can end up saving money by investing in an AGM battery.
