How Do I Know What Size Battery My Car Needs?

You can find the correct battery size for your Traverse in either your owner's manual, or by checking online. In addition to battery size, you'll also want to look up the recommended CCA rating   for your vehicle. Cold cranking amps tell you how well you can expect your battery to perform in extremely cold weather. Be sure to purchase a battery that matches the CCA recommended rating for your Chevy Traverse. If you live in an area prone to extreme cold, you may want to purchase a battery with a higher CCA rating than your manual recommends. A higher CCA battery will make it easier to start your engine during the winter months.

Is a Flooded Battery the Same as AGM?

Batteries Plus carries flooded and AGM auto batteries. Flooded batteries are the most basic type of auto battery. They're the most affordable upfront and may require you to maintain them by adding distilled water to the electrolyte inside.

It's important to remember that not all vehicles accept flooded batteries. Many vehicles require an AGM battery. If your Chevy Traverse originally came with an AGM battery installed, you must replace it with another AGM option. Otherwise, the battery won't be able to keep up with the power demands of your SUV.

AGM batteries cost a bit more upfront, but offset that with these performance benefits:

  • Higher voltage output - provide more energy, making it easier to start vehicles and provide additional power for onboard technology
  • Longer lifespan - lasts 2-3X as long as a flooded battery
  • Maintenance free - completely sealed & spill-proof
  • Faster charging - recharges faster than a flooded battery
  • Lower self-discharge rate - holds its charge longer in storage than a flooded battery
  • More resistant to vibrations and extreme hot & cold

What is the Best Battery for a Chevy Traverse?

An X2Power AGM battery is the longest-lasting, best-performing battery for your Chevy Traverse. Here are the many advantages X2Power batteries provide:

  • Designed to last up to 3X longer than a flooded auto battery
  • Recharges faster than a flooded battery
  • Features some of the highest CCAs for top performance in any climate
  • Has a higher power capacity, making it ideal for vehicles with lots of onboard technology
  • 100% spill-proof & maintenance free
  • 28X more resistant to vibrations than a standard battery.
