Chevrolet Impala FAQs

Replacement batteries for your Chevrolet Impala will range in price from around $180 for a Duracell Ultra flooded battery and up to $350 for a premium X2Power AGM battery. All Malibu batteries come with free replacement warranties that range anywhere from 2 to 4 years.

Some newer Impala's are equipped with start/stop technology to help with fuel efficiency and emissions. When you drive up to a stop sign or red light the engine will shut off but leave all other accessories on; when you take your foot off the brake the engine starts and you continue on like normal. Vehicles with this technology will often have two batteries; a starting battery and a secondary battery called an auxiliary battery. The auxiliary battery will power electronic systems like the start/stop and other secondary electronics.

The life of a battery in your Chevy Impala will depend on its maintenance and use. Most batteries in your Impala will last 3-5 years if they are properly taken care of. However, if you neglect your battery and don't regularly clean the battery terminals and check for and remove corrosion, you may need to replace it much sooner than expected.
