When it's time to replace the battery in your BMW X5, look no further than the experts at Batteries Plus. You'll find a selection of auto batteries including batteries from brand names you trust like Duracell Ultra, Optima and our exclusive X2Power brand. We stand behind every battery we sell, and each one comes with a free replacement warranty; if something's not right, bring it back and we'll talk it through. If you have questions about which battery is best for your X5  , our expert technicians will help. Batteries Plus also offers free battery testing   and expert installation with the purchase of a new battery (at most locations, on most makes and models).

How can you tell your car battery is going bad?   Most car batteries generally last between 3 and 5 years. If your battery is struggling to turn over your engine or you notice that your headlights appear dimmer (especially when you're idling), it's a good idea to first have your battery tested. If you need a new battery, the AGM batteries   we sell will work well in your BMW X5.

Not sure which type of battery you need in your X5? Your owner's manual is a good place to start, and there are online resources that will help, too. That said, there are a few battery basics to keep in mind. When you bought it, your X5 probably came with an AGM battery. Cars and SUVs that run AGM batteries require an AGM replacement. You won't be able to downgrade to a flooded battery as this can have a negative impact on your BMW's performance.

You'll also find plenty of additional essentials for your BMW X5 in our Auto Center, including battery chargers, headlight bulbs, windshield wiper blades and more.

BMW X5 FAQs

Your X5 runs on a typical 12-volt auto battery, and it will require an AGM battery rather than a flooded battery. You can find your BMW X5's exact battery requirements in your owner's manual. If you don't have your manual, the experts at your nearest Batteries Plus will be happy to help.

Typically, the battery in an X5 will last between 3 and 5 years. To get the longest life possible out of your battery, it's important to keep your battery charged. Be sure to drive your vehicle at least 30 minutes every week at highway speeds. If you won't be using your X5 SUV for a few weeks, it's a good idea to attach it to a battery maintainer, which will help keep your battery from running down.
