- There are 2 kinds of auto batteries available: flooded & AGM.
- Flooded batteries are the most basic type of auto battery and cost the least upfront.
- AGM batteries are more costly, but provide more power, making it easier to start your engine in extreme temperatures.
- AGM batteries also last 2-3X longer than flooded batteries do.
- Some vehicles require an AGM battery in order to run start/stop systems and other tech.
- Your owner's manual will tell you if you need an AGM battery.
- If your vehicle requires an AGM battery, do not replace it with a flooded battery.
