At Batteries Plus, our technicians receive extensive training, followed by constant procedural updates to stay on top of new models and changing technology. In addition, Batteries Plus also takes part in the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association's (CTIA)   WISE certification program (available at participating locations only).

In order to become certified, each technician must pass a knowledge and skills test that gauges the technician's abilities. For more information on WISE certification, read our blog "What is WISE Certification and What Does It Mean for Cell Phone Repair?"

Should I Clear My Phone Before Sending It for Repair?

It's not necessary to clear your phone prior to having it repaired, nor will you be asked to share your passcode. After completing the repair, the technician will request that you unlock the device so that they can test its full functionality, but that is the only time they will access the device.

What are the Most Common Cell Phone Repairs?

The two most common cell phone repairs are battery replacement and screen repair.

Battery Replacement

  • Your cell phone battery only lasts 1-3 years
  • An aging battery often needs to be charged more often. It can also cause your phone to crash or slow down your phone's performance

Screen Repair

  • It's important to fix a broken screen as soon as possible because the glass can cut your fingers
  • A cracked screen also allows oil & dirt to get inside your phone, which can damage it further
  • A cracked touchscreen will often become less responsive
