Batteries Plus Donates Batteries to Toys for Tots

The holidays are a time of giving and receiving gifts, but for many children, their economic situation prevents them from receiving the presents so many of us take for granted. For the past three years, Batteries Plus has partnered with Duracell and the U.S. Marines' Toys for Tots Campaign to help make the holidays a little bit brighter for underprivileged kids.
Toys for Tots conducts local toy collection campaigns from October until December, then distributes these donations to needy children throughout the country. As part of that mission, the organization promises that all of the gifts they hand out are complete, without the need for additional components. Since many of the toys the organization receives are battery-powered, Toys for Tots requires a large number of batteries before these donations can be handed out.
In what has become an annual holiday tradition, Batteries Plus has once again stepped in to help provide Toys for Tots with the batteries they need. Through our partnership with Duracell, Batteries Plus has donated nearly 300,000 batteries to the organization over the past three years. In addition to batteries, Batteries Plus associates also donated additional toys both at our corporate headquarters and at individual stores located throughout the country.

This year was especially significant as Toys for Tots is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Marine Staff Sergeant Jocelyn Penagos met with CEO Scott Williams and other Batteries Plus executives to accept the donation.
