How Many CCAs Should a Car Battery Have?
- CCA is short for Cold Cranking Amps, which tell you how well a battery will perform in zero degree weather
- The higher the number of CCAs, the better the battery will perform in the cold
- Each vehicle has a minimum CCA recommendation, which can be found in your owner's manual
- Do not buy a battery with a lower CCA rating than the manufacturer recommends
- If you live in a cold climate you can buy a battery with a higher than recommended CCA rating
Flooded Battery vs AGM battery: What are the Differences?
- Flooded batteries are the most affordable type of auto battery
- AGM batteries cost more upfront, but last longer, recharge faster and perform better in extreme hot and cold weather
- If your vehicle came from the factory with an AGM battery installed, you must replace it with another AGM battery
- If your vehicle originally came with a flooded battery installed, you can replace it with another flooded battery, or upgrade to an AGM option

Check what kind of battery is currently installed in your Volvo XC90. If it's an AGM battery, you need to replace it with another AGM option. If you currently have a flooded battery installed, you can replace it with another flooded battery or upgrade to an AGM battery.
The cost of a replacement battery will depend on the type of battery you select. Flooded batteries have a lower upfront cost, however, they don't last as long as an AGM battery will. Because of their longer lifespans, you'll probably save money in the long run by investing in an AGM battery.
