The Nissan Xterra launched in the United States in 2000 and was a rugged, off-road focused SUV designed for harsher conditions than some of it's competitors. The Xterra was sadly discontinued in 2015 after only a 15 year life but during that time it was a very sought after off-road capable SUV.

Batteries Plus carries a large selection of high-quality automotive batteries for your Xterra from highly rated brands like Duracell Ultra, Optima and even our own exclusive brand X2Power. It's important to know which battery your Xterra needs, check the owner's manual, look under the hood or use our fitment finder to make sure the you don't use the wrong size battery  .

Not sure where to start to find the right battery you need for your Xterra? Check out our helpful article "How Do I Know Which Car Battery Fits My Car?  " where we walk you through different ways to ensure you know the exact fit battery for your vehicle.

Nissan Xterra FAQs

A new battery shouldn’t have to break the bank. We’ve got batteries for your Xterra that will fit any budget. From the Duracell Ultra Group 35 Flooded battery at around $180 all the way to the ultra premium X2Power Premium AGM Group 35 battery at $350. Whatever battery you're looking for, we have a solution for you.

In normal conditions with little maintenance a car battery should last between 3 and 5 years. However, this can be lengthened by regularly checking the battery terminals for corrosion and removing it if there is any with a terminal cleaner. Help keep your battery healthy by reducing short trips so the alternator has time to recharge the battery as you drive. If you ignore your battery and just let corrosion build up you could be replacing it much earlier than expected.

There are some telltale signs that you should immediately recognize as potential signs of battery failure. These include difficulty starting, dimming headlights and interior lights, electrical system malfunctions and reduced performance when cold weather strikes. When you experience any of these things you should drive over to your nearest Batteries Plus and have us test your battery for you, free of charge.
