Does It Matter What Car Battery You Buy?

Before shopping for a new Lexus GS 350 battery, you'll need some information first.

  • Find the correct size battery for your model vehicle by looking in your owner's manual or at your current battery's label.
  • Determine the CCA rating   for your GW 350. This info is available in your owner's manual.
  • You can buy a battery with a higher number of CCAs than your vehicle requires but do not buy a vehicle with a lower CCA rating.
  • Some vehicles require an AGM battery. If your GS 350 came from the factory with an AGM battery installed, you must replace it with another AGM option.

Should You Buy a Flooded or AGM Battery?

  • Flooded batteries are the most basic auto battery option. They cost the least upfront, but are not fully sealed. Because of this, some flooded batteries require you to regularly top off the electrolyte inside with distilled water.
  • AGM batteries cost more, but provide more power than flooded batteries, allowing you to start your engine more easily in extreme climates.
  • AGM batteries cost more upfront but are built to last 2-3X longer than a flooded battery. This makes an AGM battery a better value in the long run.

Lexus GS350 FAQs

A Lexus GS 350 battery should last you between 3 and 5 years. Read our blog "6 Things That Can Drain Your Car Battery  " for tips on how to maximize your auto battery's life.

If you are having difficulties turning over your engine, or your battery won't hold a charge, it's a good bet you'll need to replace it. When an auto battery dies, it can also cause your headlights to appear dimmer or impair the performance of your onboard electronics.

The cost will be determined by which replacement battery you choose. A flooded battery saves you money upfront, but an AGM battery is a better investment long term.
