Visit Batteries Plus for your Jeep Liberty battery replacement needs. At Batteries Plus, you'll find plenty of replacement battery options for your 2012 or earlier model Jeep Liberty. We carry both flooded and AGM batteries from a variety of top-quality brands, including Duracell, Optima, Odyssey and our exclusive X2Power brand.

The battery in your Jeep Liberty should last between 3 and 5 years. If your battery is older than that, or if you're having a hard time starting your engine, bring your SUV to one of our 700+ stores and have your battery tested for free. When you purchase a new auto battery, we also offer expert installation service (valid at participating locations, on most vehicle makes and models).

We also offer a variety of additional auto products and services. Visit our Automotive Center to find essentials like headlight bulbs, battery chargers, jumper cables and more. Need a new auto key or remote? Our key fob replacement service is much faster and more affordable than your dealership (available at participating locations only).

How Do I Know What Size Battery My Car Needs?

  • Auto manufacturers provide a group battery size requirement for every vehicle they make
  • You can find the correct battery size in your Jeep Liberty owner's manual, or by looking it up online
  • Learn more in our blog, "How Do I Know Which Car Battery Fits My Car?  "

How Many CCAs Should a Car Battery Have?

  • The number of Cold Cranking Amps (CCAs) tell you how well your battery will perform in subzero temperatures
  • A higher CCA rating means that a battery will perform better in the cold than one with a lower number of CCAs
  • Your owner's manual will provide you with a minimum CCA rating for your Jeep Liberty
  • You can buy a battery with a higher number of CCAs than your manual recommends, but don't buy a battery with a lower number of CCAs

What are the Differences Between Flooded and AGM Batteries?

  • There are 2 types of auto batteries: flooded & AGM
  • Flooded batteries cost less, but have shorter lifespans and may require additional maintenance
  • AGM batteries are designed to last 2-3X longer, recharge faster and start your vehicle more reliably in extreme weather conditions than flooded batteries

Jeep Liberty FAQs

The cost of replacing the battery in a Jeep Liberty will depend on the type of battery you choose. Flooded batteries carry the lowest upfront cost. AGM batteries are initially more expensive, but last longer, which often saves you money long term.

No. Jeep vehicles rely on 12-volt auto batteries the same as other cars and trucks.

When shopping for a replacement battery, check whether your Jeep currently has a flooded or AGM battery installed. If you already have an AGM battery, you need to replace this with another AGM battery. If you have a flooded battery installed, you can choose whether you want to replace it with another flooded battery, or upgrade to an AGM option.
