Chevrolet began production of the new Chevy Sonic in 2011 for its US introduction for the 2012 model year. It was the first model in its class that was both assembled and sold in the US and was available in a four-door sedan and a 5-door hatchback. It was updated in 2015 with all of the latest technology features seen in larger vehicles including 4G LTE with a built-in mobile hotspot, touchscreen infotainment systems, and a new turbo engine. The Sonic was eventually discontinued in 2020 despite winning several awards and having such high demand in a short life.

Chevrolet Sonic FAQs

A new battery for your Sonic shouldn't have to break the bank. We've got batteries for your Chevy that will fit any budget. From the Duracell Ultra Group 47 Flooded battery at around $200 up to the Group 47 Duracell Ultra Platinum AGM battery at $245. Whatever budget you have, we have a battery for you.

In normal conditions with little maintenance or no maintenance your battery should last between 3 and 5 years. However, you can extend this by regularly checking for and removing corrosion from the battery terminals with a terminal cleaner and a wire brush. Help keep your battery healthy by driving longer trips to give the alternator time to recharge the battery fully as you drive. If you ignore your battery and just let corrosion build up or don't let the battery charge properly you could be replacing it much earlier than expected.

In most Sonic's you'll find the BCI Group Size 47 battery being used. It's important to note that this can vary depending on the year of your Sonic and it's always best to verify what you need before making a purchase by looking under the hood, in the owner's manual or using our fitment finder.
