Science in Action: Battery Powered Car & Hopewell High Students
March 17, 2008

Ever driven a battery powered car? Engineering students at Hopewell High School got up close and personal with one today and WBTV's Kristen Miranda is taking us along for the ride. She tells us that this car is only the beginning for these students.

The car that they got to inspect belongs to Rick, who operates a Batteries Plus store in Huntersville. He shared it with the students today.

This fall, Hopewell is one of four CMS schools that will be able to boast an engineering academy, a focus on engineering sciences. It will also cultivate partnerships with engineers and technology experts in our community.

So today was a preview, a chance to get up close and personal with new technology.
