FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Hartland, WI – Batteries Plus®, the nation’s largest chain focused on the $22 billion battery category serving both retail and commercial customers, announced its been awarded two 2007 American Inhouse Design Awards by the editors of Graphic Design USA for the designs created by Batteries Plus graphic designer Adam Galke. Galke headed the project to redesign a corporate identity logo for Square Brands and a brochure for Qualtech, two Batteries Plus affiliates.
“Adam is a gifted designer, so his nomination for these awards was a way to showcase his talent to the graphic design community. For him to win both awards, shows the industry how lucky we are to have him on board,” said Cathleen Stewart, Vice-President of Marketing for Batteries Plus. “Having his exceptional creativity and conceptualizing skills on hand at Batteries Plus has certainly grown our graphic capabilities.”
The American Inhouse Design Awards are the premier showcase for outstanding work by inhouse designers from design, marketing, and communication departments that recognize the creativity and challenges faced to contribute to their respective corporations, publishers, non-profits, universities, and government agencies.
Award categories focus on the activities and strengths of inhouse design departments, from brochures and collateral, logos and identity programs, direct mail and announcements, and corporate and annual reports to package and p-o-p design projects, sales promotions, newsletters, publications and conference and event materials. Each entry is judged against itself, based on its creativity, effectiveness, performance and success, as well as the sensitivity to the challenges and constraints that inhouse designers face.
Graphics Design USA, the creative professional’s monthly news, people, projects, and opinion magazine, has been presenting design competitions for four decades, and this year, it garnered a record 4,000 entries for American Inhouse Design Awards, 15% of which were the only ones to receive recognition.
“To be nominated by my colleagues is truly the real honor,” said Galke. “I am very passionate about making my designs unique and take pride in overcoming challenges. Winning two American Inhouse Design Awards means so much because they are awarded based on the criteria that designers strive to be judged upon.”
