Powering Up: Batteries Plus Announces Plans to Expand in North Carolina & South Carolina
Fayetteville, NC - April 2009. Wilmington, Wilson, and Gastonia, NC, as well as Rock Hills, SC are next in line for a power surge. Batteries Plus, the nation’s largest franchise focused on the $24 billion battery category, announced today that current franchisee Bill Dail has signed on to add four additional franchise locations to serve the Wilmington, Wilson, and Gastonia, NC, as well as Rock Hills, SC communities for the local battery needs of consumers and businesses.
Batteries Plus has developed a stronghold in communities nationwide with a distinctive niche that offers a comprehensive selection of batteries, battery-related products and technical support. The new locations will provide the equipment and expertise on-site to assemble, test, condition and design custom battery packs for rechargeable household and business products.
Products include literally thousands of batteries for thousands of items, ranging from common items such as watches, cameras and cell phones to larynx batteries for electronic voice boxes, solar landscape lights, talking books for children and keyless entry door locks at major hotels.
Franchisee Bill Dail said he chose to open additional Batteries Plus locations based on its solid performance in the marketplace despite the slowing economy, the projected growth of the $24 billion dollar battery category, as well as the wide range and quality of products and services Batteries Plus offers compared to its competitors. This deal will bring Dail’s Batteries Plus locations total to ten. Dail’s other locations are in Fayetteville, Jacksonville, Wilmington, and Goldsboro, NC (set to open in May 2009), as well as Florence and Myrtle Beach, SC.
“When I first sought to open my own business, I looked for a franchise with strong store economics and staying power in today’s world,” said Dail. “In an age of increased portability and technology, our society is becoming increasingly dependent on batteries. My new Batteries Plus stores will be fulfilling a consistent and growing demand.”
Ranked the No. 1 battery franchise and No. 59 overall in Dun & Bradstreet’s AllBusiness AllStars rankings of the nation’s top 300 franchise companies and among the list of Inc 5000’s fastest growing companies Batteries Plus has positioned itself among the most attractive franchise concepts on the market for potential investors looking to run a successful business in their community.
“We look forward to meeting the ongoing battery needs of the Wilmington, Wilson, Gastonia, and Rock Hills communities, from the consumer seeking simple batteries for common items or automotive needs, to the business owner or large group needing ongoing, more complex battery services,” Dail said.
