Celebrate National Battery Day at Local Batteries Plus Store

National Battery Day is celebrated annually on February 18th, the birthday of Allesandro Volta, who is regarded as the first inventor of the electric cell and battery. Batteries Plus, the nation's largest battery retailer is celebrating "National Battery Day" on February 18th by offering free car/truck battery and electrical system testing from February 18th - 20th.
The free testing will take place at the Peachtree City store, located at 170 Peachtree East Shopping Center in Peachtree City, GA. Also, customers who come in during the month of February can receive $15 off the purchase of a laptop battery by mail in rebate.
Jane Watts, owner of three, woman-owned, veteran certified Batteries Plus locations in Georgia is celebrating "National Battery Day" at her three locations in: Decatur, Stockbridge and Peachtree City.
Watts spent four years in the coast guard in the early 1980s. Jane's business partner is June Riner and June's sister, Darla Carter will manage the new, Peachtree City location. Kurstie Carter (June's niece and Darla's daughter) will also work at the Peachtree City location. Therefore, four women are (excuse the pun) "powering up" a traditionally male industry.
"‘National Battery Day' affords these ladies the opportunity to educate consumers about how to extend the life of their batteries," said Watts, owner of the Peachtree City Batteries Plus store. "Seeing that the average household has over 21 battery powered devices, we thought what better day to remind customers to check their batteries in these devices and make sure they're powered up."
