CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Batteries Plus, a chain that carries batteries for everything from cars to hearing aids, announced it has signed a franchise agreement with local resident Jon McDavid to open a store in Charleston.
McDavid said he is still scouting for locations but hopes to have the store open by September.
The Nitro resident said he has worked for Union Boiler, a construction company, for 40 years. "I'm just venturing out," he said.
According to the Batteries Plus Web site, the company's first store opened in 1988 in Green Bay, Wis. The company is headquartered in Hartland, Wis., which is west of Milwaukee. Batteries Plus has 348 stores in 42 states and Puerto Rico.
